The UB Center for Advanced Biomedical and Bioengineering Technology (UB CAT) is accepting proposals from companies with life sciences projects- whether new or established - to accelerate product development and technology commercialization for devices, diagnostics, drugs, software, and related products.

UB CAT awards matching funds to eligible products including:

• New product development
• Product optimization, design & prototyping
• testing services utilizing specialized equipment
• Validation and quality control
• Clinical trials
• Other projects supporting commercialization

Karen M. Utz, Esq. works in UB’s Office of Economic Development as the Director, Program Administration. In that role, Karen serves as the lead for both STARTUP NY at UB and the UB Center for Advanced Biomedical and Bioengineering Technology (UB CAT). She is a graduate of Canisius College and UB Law.
